THE CONNECTED SET LIMITED PRIVACY NOTICE FOR CONTRIBUTORS TO OUR PROGRAMMES
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data we will hold about you, how we collect it, and how we will use and may share information about you when you provide contributions to us. It is for on-air talent (such as actors, musicians, presenters, writers and composers) and other contributors (such as interviewees or those providing material like photos or the use of their property as a filming location), and individuals who have previously contributed to our productions.
The Connected Set Limited (“Connected Set”) is a ‘data controller’, responsible for deciding how we hold and use certain information about you.
You provide certain information as part of your contribution: your image, voice, photos, views of your property and other identifying information. You also provide information in your contract and correspondence, including your name, email address and address, and if we pay you, your banking details.
We process your information for the purposes of our business, including production, broadcasting, distribution and marketing. As a data controller we rely on legal bases including the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (managing and administering our business effectively), your consent (for example for marketing contact), and compliance with our legal obligations. This covers your participation and its assessment, remuneration and bank details, contacting you and your representatives, enabling the creation, sale and distribution/broadcast of productions (including sharing with the relevant Commissioner, the rights management platform Soundmouse and distribution agents), diversity and equal-opportunities monitoring, physical and system security, disputes and legal proceedings, and day-to-day operations.
We may share your information internally with employees, managers and administrators (including finance) working on your production. We will only share with third parties outside our group where consistent with a legal basis and where lawful and fair, for example external recipients of emails containing your information, aggregated and anonymised diversity data to regulators on formal request, and footage, images or audio of you for broadcasting, distribution and marketing (or to credit your role).
In connection with our business and for production, broadcasting, distribution, administrative, management, marketing and legal purposes, we may transfer your information outside the United Kingdom (UK). This includes transfers to members of our group and to data processors in the US and, on occasion, other jurisdictions in which we are established. Some of our systems are hosted outside the UK.
Where we transfer your information to a country that the UK has not deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by putting in place appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.
